A lecture given by Vice-Chancellor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu of the University of Ghana

  Vice-Chancellor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu of the University of Ghana paid a visit to Kochi University on Monday, September 5, and gave a lecture entitled “International Exchanges at the University of Ghana” at the Media Hall on the Asakura Campus. This lecture was attended by 62 participants, including two Kochi University students from Ghana, 20 high school students spending their summer vacation in Japan and a private-sector organization promoting international exchanges.
  The University of Ghana, which was founded in 1948 and has 40,211 students at present, signed an international exchange agreement with Kochi University in September 2015. In the lecture, Vice-Chancellor Owusu said that their university intended to establish partnerships with more universities, companies, foundations, etc. from around the world and to put in greater efforts in developing the abilities of faculty and staff members, enhance student exchange programs and promote educational cooperation measures to become a world-class research institution. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, in which productive exchanges of opinions took place in relation to various topics, such as research projects conducted at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research on the campus of the University of Ghana, scholarship programs, and how to take care of students in need of support.
