光線医療センターとは
高知大学医学部光線医療センターは、日本初の本格的な 「光線医療技術」 を基盤とする先進的かつ独創的な組織で、特殊光源を用いた診断・治療に関する診療・研究・教育部門です。
泌尿器科や消化器外科で開発された癌病変を赤色蛍光で検出するための5-アミノレブリン酸 (5-ALA)を用いた光線力学診断(PDD)や治療(PDT)、生理学講座で開発され、乳腺外科や心臓血管外科で臨床使用されている血管・血流、リンパ管・リンパ節を検出するためのインドシアニングリーン(ICG)を用いた近赤外線(NIR)蛍光ナビゲーションシステムHyper-Eye Medical SystemⓇなど、高知大学医学部から生まれた、高知ブランドの研究開発事業を世界に向けて発信してきました。
さらには、セツキシマブサロカロタンナトリウムを用いた光免疫療法(PIT) (薬事承認2020年11月、発売 2021年1月)を、2022年6月に新規臨床導入し、切除不能な局所再発の頭頸部がんの治療を行っています。
そして引き続き、光線医療技術を用いた診断や治療を行うことで、高齢化先進県である高知県の要望に即した、低侵襲医療の開発、実施、普及にあたっています。
What Is “Center for Photodynamic Medicine”
Center for Photodynamic Medicine is the Japan's first department of practice, research and education dealt with special medical technology using special light source. We develop and spread KOCHI’s original medical technology such as photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) employing 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), and indocyanine green (ICG) in fluorescence imaging with near-infrared light (NIR) to the world.
In addition, photoimmunotherapy (PIT) using cetuximab salocarotan sodium (regulatory approval, November 2020, launch January 2021) was newly introduced in clinical practice in June 2022 to treat unresectable locally recurrent head and neck cancer.
We will continue to diagnose and treat patients using photodynamic medicine technology to develop, implement, and disseminate minimally invasive medical care in line with the needs of Kochi Prefecture, which is an advanced prefecture with an aging population.
