1. Data mining using medical and nursing database of the hospital information system
病院情報システムの医療・看護データベースによるデータマイニング
病院情報システムの医療情報データベースや看護情報データベースに蓄積される膨大なデータから病院機能評価、医療や看護の質評価、更に臨床的な知見を探索的に抽出することを研究している。
2. Standardization of patient profile information (PPI)
患者プロファイル情報の標準化
患者の身体個人特性、生活背景、病歴等をまとめた患者プロファイル情報（広義の患者基本情報）の標準的なデータ項目を定義し、各医療機関で新たに発生したPPIのデータを地域で共有できる情報基盤を構築するための研究を行っている。
3. Clinical supports based on big clinical data
医療ビッグデータに基づく医療支援
医療における電子化の進展に伴い大量の医療データが蓄積されつつある。それらのデータを分析することにより、より良い医療の提供を支援する。
4. Data mining using public healt data
パブリック・ヘルスデータによるデータマイニング
厚生労働省や米国CDC等の公的機関が収集、蓄積している膨大なデータを用いて、国民の健康に対するリスク因子等を探索的に抽出する研究を行っている。
5. IT use supporting the enhancement and management of medical and nursing education
医学・看護学教育支援へのIT活用
情報技術（IT)を利用した医学・看護学教育支援システムに関する研究です。具体的には、大学間で利用し合える電子教材共同データベースのあり方、基づくシミュレーション教育システムのデザインやその利用方法、自己学習のIT支援のあり方に関する研究です。
