Kochi University Emblem

Kochi University was established in October 2003 through the merger of Kochi University and Kochi Medical University. A public competition was held to select an emblem befitting this new institution.
The emblem combines the letter "K" for Kochi and the letter "U" for University to create a dynamic design. It is simple yet vibrant, conveying a sense of youthful energy.

Inspired by the letter "K"—the initial of the revitalized "Kochi University," which is poised to take a leap forward into the future, full of hope—the color scheme features blue to evoke the waves of the Pacific Ocean and the Kuroshio Current, and sky blue to symbolize the boundless potential of young people and the vast sky. Designed as the university emblem, it embodies the dynamic spirit of the revitalized "Kochi University."
