Faculty of Science and Engineering Hydrothermal Chemistry Laboratory
Established to conduct comprehensive research spanning the fields of physics, chemistry, and geology related to high-temperature, high-pressure water, this is the only research institute of its kind in Japan.
As a research institute with a broad range of applications grounded in fundamental science, we collaborate with universities and public and private research institutions nationwide. Through these partnerships, we have achieved a series of breakthroughs, including research on combustion phenomena in water (wet combustion), the decomposition of PCBs, the treatment of radioactive waste, and the synthesis of new materials such as ionic conductors.
The mutual intellectual exchange among undergraduate graduates, master’s students, and students from different disciplines contributes to the development of well-rounded academic abilities.
