大学院の教育研究上の目的
The purpose of this program is to teach and conduct research on academic theories and their applications, to explore their depths, and to contribute to the advancement of various academic fields and the improvement of human welfare; furthermore, it aims to cultivate profound knowledge and outstanding abilities necessary for careers requiring a high degree of specialization, thereby contributing to the advancement of culture and the development of society.

Humanities and Social Sciences Program
The program aims to cultivate individuals who possess a broad foundation in the humanities and social sciences as well as deep specialized knowledge, and who will contribute to the local community.
Science and Technology Program
学部が実施する基礎理学や理工学分野の教育研究を発展的に継承し、理学及び理工学に関する専門知識を修得し、また、自らが課題を発見しそれを解決していける能力を身につけ、地域社会や国際社会において、地域イノベーションの創出と持続可能な社会づくりに貢献できる高度専門職業人を育成することを目的とする。数学、物理学、生物学、地球科学の諸分野では、自然の諸法則とそれらを解明する方法を教育し、基礎理学の素養を持った高度専門職業人を育成する。応用化学、生命理工学、災害科学、防災工学の諸分野では、最先端の科学的知見を得て、地域的課題解決にも取り組める人材を育成する。情報科学分野又は情報科学分野と他分野との連携においては、数理的理解力・思考と高度な情報技術力を兼ね備え、情報科学・データサイエンス・デジタル・ＤＸ分野を牽引する人材を育成する。
Medical Science Program
The program aims to train researchers and educators in the field of medical science who possess highly specialized knowledge and skills through systematic and intensive instruction in a broad range of medical science subjects, while also fostering individuals capable of comprehensively addressing various social issues based on medical science.
Nursing Science Program
健康で文化的な生活を送るという国民の権利を支援することが医療者には求められている。看護学専攻においては、高知大学の教育理念に鑑み、「現場主義」を重視し、社会の一員として求められるソーシャルスキルを基盤とした、課題解決能力を身につけた人間力豊かな人材を育成する。さらに、医療の場を含む日常生活の場で人間にとって最も重要な健康の増進を目指しつつ、生活者の視点で包括的な支援を行う高度に専門的な知識・技能を身につけた論理的・創造的な看護の実践者・看護学教育者・看護管理者の育成を目指す。
Agriculture and Marine Science Program
The program aims to train highly specialized professionals who can contribute to the sustainable development of human society and local communities by leveraging expertise in agricultural or marine sciences to ensure a stable supply of resources from both land and marine environments; to develop technologies for the development, acquisition, and highly efficient utilization of these resources; and to conserve and restore production environments as well as local and global ecosystems.
Regional Collaboration Program
The objective is to cultivate human resources capable of enhancing regional sustainability by fostering the skills necessary to train successors—a critical need for regional revitalization and future regional regeneration and development—as well as to formulate long-term regional visions and undertake the development of new regional resources and the expansion of new markets.
Sports and Arts Initiatives Codevelopment Program
The aim is to contribute to the sustainable development of local communities by conducting educational and research activities in the fields of sports and the arts, in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, to develop solutions to local challenges.
Professional Degree Course
Program for Advanced Professional Development in Teacher Education
The program aims to foster teachers who possess the advanced expertise and practical skills necessary to not only innovate education in Kochi Prefecture but also to develop and deliver an educational framework that empowers children to independently shape their own futures within an increasingly complex modern society.

Applied Science Program
Through interdisciplinary collaboration across the fields of basic science, applied science, and science and engineering, we aim to cultivate research and development professionals and highly specialized science and engineering professionals who possess the advanced expertise, knowledge, and skills necessary to drive innovation and facilitate societal implementation within their respective research domains.Furthermore, while promoting interdisciplinary research, the program aims to cultivate professionals who possess a sound understanding of nature and are capable of addressing the challenges facing Kochi Prefecture—such as disaster prevention and mitigation, the protection of natural and ecological environments, and the expansion of local industries—within their respective research fields.
Medicine Program
高い倫理観と豊かな人間性のかん養並びに高度な医学的知識と技能の習得を教育理念とし、黒潮圏総合科学専攻及び応用自然科学専攻との緊密な連携の下に、両専攻における自然科学と人間科学のパラダイムをも取り入れた教育研究体制を構築することにより、高知県の地域特性に根差した医学・医療の推進に寄与できる人材、国際的に通用する優れた医学研究者、リサーチマインドを持つ優れた臨床専門医（良医）を養成し、多様な社会的ニーズに対する柔軟な対応が可能で、底辺が広くレベルの高い医学研究及び医療の達成を目的とする。
Kuroshio Science Program
With regard to educational research and human resource development, we have set the following objectives.
- Fostering researchers and educators who possess advanced expertise in their respective fields while also incorporating knowledge and perspectives from other disciplines
- Fostering a new generation of researchers and educators equipped with the new concept of Kuroshio-circulation science and a broad international perspective
- Fostering talent grounded in Kuroshio-region science, equipped with a broad international perspective, and capable of contributing to local industry and the economy
- Providing professional development programs featuring engaging research and educational content for working professionals active across various sectors of society
- To maintain and develop good relations with countries in the Kuroshio Current region of Northeast and Southeast Asia, we actively accept international students and nurture them as researchers and educators.
