[Undergraduate and Graduate Programs] Application for Tuition Exemption (or Reduction) for the First Semester of the 2026 Academic Year
Students wishing to apply for tuition exemption (or reduction) for the first semester of the 2026 academic year should review the following:

(Undergraduate Students: New Applicants) Tuition Waivers Under the New Higher Education Support System
If you apply for a Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) grant-type scholarship and are selected as a scholarship recipient, your tuition fees will be reduced or waived depending on the support category of the grant-type scholarship. Information regarding the procedures for tuition fee reductions under this system will be provided in conjunction with the application for the JASSO grant-type scholarship (in-school selection) to be conducted in April.
*Starting in the 2025 academic year, the scope of support under the New System for Supporting Higher Education has been expanded. Students from large families (households with three or more dependent children) will have their tuition and other fees waived (fully exempted). Eligible students should apply for the JASSO Grant-in-Aid for Students (In-School Selection) in April.

*An information session regarding the JASSO Grant-in-Aid for Students will be held in early April. The schedule will be posted on KULAS at a later date, so please check there for details.
(Undergraduate Students: Continuing Students) Tuition Waivers Under the New Higher Education Support System
Students who have already been selected as grant-type scholarship recipients by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) will be treated as eligible for tuition reduction and will have their tuition reduced according to their support category. No renewal procedures are required.
*However, please be sure to complete the necessary procedures as a grant recipient (e.g., "Enrollment Report").
*You will be notified of the outcome of your tuition reduction application via KULAS around late July. Please review the following informational materials for details.

Please prepare and submit the required application documents by the deadlines listed below .
*Applications must be submitted for each semester. Even if you were approved for the first semester, you must submit a new application if you wish to receive a tuition waiver for the second semester.
*Tuition exemption for students affected by disasters is available to those who meet the following criteria:
・If the student or the person responsible for paying tuition fees suffered damage from an earthquake or wind/flood disaster within six months prior to the payment deadline for each semester (for new students, within one year prior to enrollment regarding the semester in which they enrolled)
