Notice Regarding the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake Disaster Investigation Briefing (Preliminary Report)
On March 11, 2011, the “Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake”—the largest earthquake ever recorded in Japan—struck off the coast of Sanriku, causing extensive damage to a wide area of eastern Japan along the Pacific coast. We express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in this disaster and extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those currently living in difficult conditions as evacuees.
Science Research Center is currently conducting an investigation into this earthquake disaster in collaboration with the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, the Japanese Geotechnical Society, and other organizations. We are pleased to announce that we will be holding a “Disaster Investigation Briefing (Preliminary Report).”
The event is open to the general public. No advance registration is required.
