Photo Exhibition: "The Damage from the Showa Nankai Earthquake in Photos" (March 1–28)

高知大学理学部附属高知地震観測所と高知県立図書館は「写真で見る昭和南海地震の被害」と題した写真展を開催します。
We are exhibiting photographs of the damage caused by the Showa Nankai Earthquake, taken in the areas surrounding Kochi City, Tosa City, and Susaki City by Mr. Takeo Sawamura and Mr. Hisashi Ueda—both former teachers at the former Kochi High School—and the Natural Sciences Group of Susaki Technical High School.
I believe these photographs vividly convey to you all that Kochi, where we live, is the epicenter of the Nankai Earthquake and its resulting tsunami. To minimize the damage caused by the next Nankai Earthquake and its tsunami, it is essential that as many people as possible take steps to prepare. We organized this exhibition in the hope that it will help achieve that goal.
