Public Symposium: "Cultural Studies and Community Contribution—In the Wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11"

組織・分野の垣根を越えて、高知県における人文社会科学分野の連携を目指し、高知大学人文学部を母体とした高知人文社会科学会が設立されます。
To commemorate this, we are holding a public symposium titled “Cultural Research and Community Contribution: In the Wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.” The Great East Japan Earthquake caused significant damage to numerous cultural properties. As we are located in Kochi—a region expected to suffer major damage should the Nankai Trough earthquake strike in the near future—this symposium will explore how cultural research contributes to the local community and what steps should be taken moving forward. We invite you to join us in considering what cultural research should be doing in preparation for an earthquake.
Admission is free, and no advance registration is required.
