Symposium in Honor of Professor Kosaku Yamaoka’s Retirement: “From Lake Tanganyika to the Kuroshio Current: An Unfulfilled Dream”

Date:

Faculty will host a symposium in honor of Professor Kosaku Yamaoka, who retired in March 2013, titled “From Lake Tanganyika to the Kuroshio Current: An Unfulfilled Dream.”

Professor Yamaoka’s research began at Lake Tanganyika and expanded to the Seto Inland Sea, the Uwa Sea, Tosa Bay, Okinawa, and the Philippines—much like paddling a sea kayak upstream against the Kuroshio Current.

To commemorate this distinguished career in biodiversity research, we have invited individuals closely associated with the professor to share their fascinating insights.

For more details, please see the program.
We look forward to seeing many of you there.

 [Date and Time] Saturday, May 18, 2013, 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM

[Location] Asakura Campus, Media no Mori, 6th Floor, Media Hall
