Faculty Archaeology Seminar Exhibition: "The Kamo City Ohmoto Shrine Kofun and Its Era" (February 25–March 3)

 The Archaeology Seminar Faculty conducts surveys of cultural properties in an effort to educate students and shed light on the history of the local area.

 We are pleased to present an exhibition of archaeological materials previously investigated by the Archaeology Seminar, including earthenware excavated from the Omoto Shrine Kofun in Kami City (including a pedestal with a child figure), Sue ware excavated from Komekiyama No. 1 Kofun in Nankoku City, and Sue ware excavated from the Asakura Kofun in Kochi City.
 Furthermore, this exhibition is a project funded by the "Kochi University Educational Improvement Fund," and students are responsible for creating the display panels under faculty supervision.
Admission is free. We look forward to welcoming many visitors.

Egg-holding stand


Excavated from the Ohmoto Shrine Kofun in Kami City, Kochi Prefecture. Used in rituals at the kofun. The name derives from the fact that multiple small
plates are attached to the stand. Height: 35 cm. Early 7th century.
