The 6th Chugoku-Shikoku Symposium on Gender Equality: Gear Change! A Gender-Equal Society in the Era of Collaborative Work—Rethinking the "Men-as-Breadwinners" Society and the Future of Women’s Career Development

Date:

The Office for the Promotion of Gender Equality at Kochi University will hold the symposium mentioned above as detailed below.

This symposium has been held since fiscal year 2009 with the aim of promoting support for female researchers and gender equality in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, thereby contributing to regional revitalization. This year marks its sixth iteration.
Titled “Gear Change! A Gender-Equal Society in the Era of Collaborative Work: Rethinking the ‘Men-Work’ Society and the Future of Women’s Career Development,” this symposium will bring together national universities in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions to identify common challenges regarding future gender equality, discuss solutions, and share their findings.
At this symposium, we will explore what sustainable work styles look like in a sustainable society and what kind of workplace environment is conducive to both women and men. We will do so by reexamining the traditional “male-dominated” work culture and considering the future career development of female researchers.
Please refer to the attached PDF for details on the program and other information.
We look forward to your participation.
