Public Symposium: "Rethinking and Revitalizing the Region Through the 'Uryase Forest Railway'"

Date:

The Kochi Society for Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty, will host a public symposium titled “Rethinking and Revitalizing the Region through the Uryase Forest Railway.”

This symposium will feature lectures by experts researching the preservation of forest railway heritage sites across Japan and the role of related regional revitalization projects, as well as a panel exhibition showcasing forest railway preservation activities within the prefecture. We hope that many people, including residents of the five towns and villages in the Chūgei region, will attend. We hope this event will deepen your understanding of the cultural value of the “Uryase Forest Railway” heritage, and that the discussions held here will serve as a foundation for creating and expanding tourism-related employment opportunities in this region.

Participation is free, and no advance registration is required.
