Inspiration & Excitement in Science: Welcome to the University Lab! KAKENHI: "Taking on the Challenge of Distinguishing Optical Isomers!"
Date:
Faculty will host "Inspiration & Excitement in Science: Welcome to the University Lab"—a KAKENHI-funded event titled "Taking on the Challenge of Distinguishing Optical Isomers: Let’s Identify Molecules Using State-of-the-Art Equipment, Not Just Our Eyes and Noses."
This program is designed to help high school students experience the excitement of science by allowing them to see, hear, and interact firsthand with cutting-edge research findings supported by the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology / Japan Society for the Promotion of Science). Through experiments and lectures conducted in university laboratories—places they rarely have the opportunity to visit—as well as Graduate School, participants will gain exposure to cutting-edge research and experience the thrill of science.
The experiment is titled "Investigating Optically Active Substances Using Menthol, Limonene, and Metal Complexes." For further details, please refer to the PDF below.
