Kochi University Monobe Campus Open House

Date:

The Monobe Campus of our university is home to educational and research facilities such as the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Marine Sciences, the Kuroshio Region Integrated Sciences Program within the Graduate School of Integrated Human and Natural Sciences, the Marine Core Research Center, and the Genetic Experiment Facility. To help the local community gain a deeper understanding of these activities, we hold an annual “Monobe Campus Open House.”

This year’s main events include the Monobe Campus Forum titled “Exploring the Micro-Wonders of the Sea,” the first-ever public display of “red imported fire ant” specimens in Kochi, hands-on activities such as microscope experiments, an introduction to chemistry, and painting with plant pigments, as well as experiential booths for elementary school students and younger—including potato digging and rides on a trailer. There will also be tastings and sales of the campus’s specialty vegetables and flowers, and a public tour of the world-class “Marine Core Center.”In addition, delicious food prepared by our students is sure to whet your autumn appetite. What’s in store at the Monobe Campus? Why not come and experience it for yourself?

Please feel free to bring your family and come spend a fun autumn day at the Monobe Campus.
