Center for Disaster Prevention Promotion will hold Center for Disaster Prevention Promotion titled “Preparing for Increasingly Severe Wind and Water-Related Disasters” as detailed below.
While Kochi Prefecture boasts a beautiful natural environment, it also faces risks from a variety of natural disasters, including earthquakes along the Nankai Trough, typhoons, floods, and landslides. Amid these challenges, it is anticipated that wind and water-related disasters will occur more frequently in the future due to factors such as typhoons becoming more severe as a result of global warming.In response to these challenges, we aim to widely introduce the initiatives and research findings Center for Disaster Prevention Promotion to the residents of the prefecture to facilitate information sharing. We will also provide information and exchange opinions with disaster prevention departments of local municipalities to discuss solutions to future challenges.
