The Little Monster Color Exhibition

We are pleased to announce Affiliated Kindergarten, titled “The Little Monsters’ Color Exhibition.”
Kochi University offers a general education course titled “Let’s Display Children’s Art in Hospitals,” and through Affiliated KindergartenFaculty of EducationAffiliated Kindergarten, we are exploring the potential of hospital art. Affiliated Kindergarten, we have been promoting “paint play activities,” and since the 2016 academic year, we have been conducting a three-year practical education and research program in collaboration between on-site teachers and university faculty.As Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist,” and indeed, the works created by children are all free-spirited and creative. For the large-scale works, students from all grades at the kindergarten, including university students, were involved in the creation process. While the significance and role of art and the visual arts in society are currently being questioned, I believe that if exposure to art and music within hospital spaces can create moments of healing and relaxation for viewers, it could serve as a way to connect society and art within the local community.
