[Notice] Notice Regarding the Cancellation of the IOP Project International Symposium
In light of the government’s basic policy issued on February 25, the Kochi Prefecture COVID-19 Response Headquarters’ guidelines dated February 26 regarding the suspension of events hosted by Kochi Prefecture, and the fact that it has become difficult for symposium speakers to travel to Kochi, we have decided to cancel all sessions of the International Symposium and Open Conference originally scheduled for February 29 and March 1. We hereby notify you of this decision.
We sincerely apologize to all participants who have been eagerly awaiting this event. However, we have made this decision in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
The IoP Project International Symposium will be held on February 29 and March 1, 2020.
In October 2018, the Cabinet Office-funded (FY2018 Grant for Regional Universities and Regional Industry Revitalization) industry-academia-government project titled “The Evolution Toward ‘Next-Generation Protected Horticulture’ Led by ‘IoP (Internet of Plants)’” was launched in Kochi Prefecture.With top talent and specialized institutions from across the country coming together, the project is expected to bring innovation to the agricultural sector through practical research and the dissemination of its results.
At this symposium, we aim to share the vision for the future—spanning all areas from production to distribution, sales, and consumption—that this project seeks to achieve with stakeholders involved in the agricultural sector, IoT, food, and other related industries. We also aim to further develop the project through an exchange of ideas with researchers.
