◆ We will be holding a "Skin Cancer Triage" event in Tano

Date:

Medical CourseMedical School held free "Skin Cancer Triage" screenings for the early detection of skin cancer at Chuo Park in Kochi City in 2017 and 2018, and in Shimanto City in 2019.

"Triage" refers to the process of sorting patients based on treatment priority during disasters and other emergencies. In this "skin cancer triage" initiative, we applied the basic principles of triage to quickly assess patients using only visual inspection, palpation, and a brief medical history. As a result, we referred individuals suspected of having skin cancer to medical facilities, and 60% of them were subsequently diagnosed with skin cancer and received treatment.

"Skin Cancer Triage," a method that has demonstrated high accuracy in the early detection of skin cancer, will be held for the first time in the Aki region (Tano Town Fureai Center).
