Regarding the 2021 Kochi University Entrance Ceremony
Regarding the “2021 Kochi University Entrance Ceremony” originally scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2021, in light of the current spread of COVID-19, we have decided to scale down the event from the traditional format—where new students and their families gather together—and instead hold separate ceremonies for Faculty, course, and major as outlined below.
We have made this decision with the utmost priority on ensuring everyone’s health and safety and preventing the spread of infection, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
[Online Interactive Entrance Ceremony]
As previously announced, we plan to hold the 2021 Academic Year New Student Orientation in person, organized by Faculty, department, course, and major. However, the 2021 Academic Year Entrance Ceremony will be conducted in a format where you participate by following a 10-minute webcast video during the orientation.Specifically, the main components will be: (1) the new students’ oath, (2) a welcome message from the President, and (3) a performance of the university anthem accompanied by the President on the piano. Only new students will be permitted to enter the venue (classroom); we kindly ask that family members refrain from attending.
The President’s address is scheduled to be posted on the Kochi University website on Thursday, April 1.
The video of the online broadcast is scheduled to be posted on the official Kochi University YouTube channel on Monday, April 5.
