◆Inspiration & Excitement in Science: Welcome to the University Lab! We are hosting a KAKENHII event titled “Can Life Be Born from Dried Sperm and Cells!?—Let’s Learn About New Technologies for Preserving Mammalian Genetic Resources.”

Date:

On August 13 and 14, 2022, Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science will host “Inspiration & Excitement in Science: Welcome to the University Lab—KAKENHI: ‘Can Life Be Born from Dried Sperm and Cells!?—Let’s Learn About New Technologies for Preserving Mammalian Genetic Resources.’”

Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science is developing conservation technologies to safely and securely maintain the genetic resources of mammals, with the aim of contributing to the preservation of mammalian biodiversity, which is threatened by human activities, natural disasters, infectious diseases, and climate change resulting from global warming.

Through lectures and hands-on experiments—including details on how we became the first in the world to successfully produce calves from embryos derived from freeze-dried sperm, as well as our future plans—this program will showcase the appeal of our research. On the day of the event, you’ll also have the opportunity to help care for the cattle in the barn, so we encourage anyone interested to join us.
