◆The 73rd Kuroshio Festival (November 3–4)

The 73rd Kuroshio Festival will be held as follows.
The Kuroshio Festival is a university festival held every fall at Kochi University’s Asakura Campus. Last year marked the first in-person event in three years, but this year, with COVID-19 restrictions “completely lifted,” it will be the first time the festival has been held as usual in four years.
On the day of the event, while the main focus will be on activities organized by campus groups, we will also hold a free-entry stage event at the North Gymnasium featuring "Sōshikō," a Kyoto-based Japanese rock band. In addition to the Main Street stalls run by off-campus restaurants, food trucks, and high school students from within the prefecture, we are planning indoor stalls and performances.On the special stage at the North Gymnasium, we will host a special event featuring the comedy duo "Rubber Girl" and voice actor Daisuke Ono as guests.
Furthermore, as a new initiative this year, the outdoor stage set up in front of Media Forest will feature performances not only by campus Yosakoi groups but also by “TACYON”—who won the Silver Prize at the 70th Yosakoi Festival—as well as the “Daiichi Consultants Yosakoi Team,” “Natsugitori,” and “Kokushi Maiso.”Furthermore, the "Meitoku Gijuku Wadaiko Club," the "Okatoyo High School Guitar Club," and students from "Oohata High School" will also be performing. We hope this event will serve as an opportunity to strengthen our bonds with high schools across the prefecture even further. We also have a special performance scheduled by President Katsutoshi Sakurai (singing and playing the keyboard). Every event promises to be a delight, so please invite your friends and family and come join us.
Please note that advance tickets are required for the "Rubber Girl Comedy Live" on Friday, November 3, and numbered tickets are required for the "Daisuke Ono Talk Show" on Saturday, November 4.
