◆Regarding the Kochi University Kochi-PBL Seminar

Date:

On July 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., Kochi University will host the Kochi-PBL (*) Seminar titled “We Create the Future Through the Power of Words: Reflecting on Japanese Culture and the Digital Society.”

Since fiscal year 2022, the Regional DX Division of Center for Regional Sustainability and Innovation(CeRSI) has been developing a community-based PBL program that integrates solutions to organizational challenges. This initiative, named the Kochi-PBL Seminar, aims to provide learning opportunities for a wide range of participants—from students to working professionals (particularly elementary, junior high, and high school teachers) and local residents—so that everyone living in Kochi Prefecture can enjoy the benefits and convenience of digital technology while cultivating the ability to lead fulfilling lives under any circumstances. We have named this community-collaborative PBL program, which incorporates problem-solving for local communities and organizations, the "Kochi-PBL Seminar," and aim to provide learning opportunities for a wide range of participants, including students, working professionals (particularly elementary, junior high, and high school teachers), and local residents.
For the keynote lecture in Part 1, we have invited Ms. Riko Takemoto, Deputy Director of the Fukuda Art Museum and Saga Arashiyama Bunka-kan, to deliver a lecture titled “As an Evangelist of Japanese Culture in the Digital Society.”
In Part 2, participants will discuss what it means to “create the future through the power of language”—the main theme of this seminar—drawing on their professional expertise as Arts and Crafts Education, a physician, a haiku poet, and a Japanese language teacher.
