◆Inspiration & Excitement in Science: Welcome to the University Lab—KAKENHI Presents "Exploring the Future of Renewable Energy and Agriculture: Solar Sharing and the Utilization of Next-Generation Agricultural Resources"
Date:
We will be holding "Hirameki☆Tokimeki Science: Welcome to the University Lab"—a KAKENHI-funded program designed to help high school students discover the excitement of science—titled "Considering the Future of Renewable Energy and Agriculture: Solar Sharing and the Utilization of Next-Generation Agricultural Resources."
In the field of agricultural production, there is a growing need to reduce production costs and environmental impact. In Kochi Prefecture in particular, reducing heating costs for greenhouse facilities and the carbon dioxide emissions generated during heating are major challenges. To address these challenges, we will first examine the environmental factors within greenhouses and consider how to control them to achieve efficient cultivation while reducing both costs and carbon dioxide emissions.
Through a tour of the experimental facilities and hands-on experiments, participants will gain an understanding of the growing environments for horticultural crops, as well as learn about the relationship between the environment and crops, and the use of renewable energy in agricultural production.
Date and Time: Saturday, July 27, 2024, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Registration deadline: Thursday, July 18; on a first-come, first-served basis)
Location: Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science (200 Monobe-Otsu, Nankoku City)
