◆Suzaki City Disaster Prevention Lighting Event: Light up the Life! - Let’s Light a Flame of Hope in Suzaki -

On Saturday, December 7, we will hold the Suzaki City Disaster Prevention Lighting Event, “Light up the Life! — Let’s Light a Flame of Hope in Suzaki.”
本イベントは、地域協働学部 大槻知史教授の高知大学地域防災・コミュニティ再生研究室が、須崎市及び一般社団法人防災活動支援センターと３月に連携実施した「国際スプリングスクール2024」において、海外学生及び日本人学生のグループより、地域の愛着や魅力を高めつつ津波避難意識を高めるアイデアとし津波避難タワー・高台のライトアップを須崎市長に提案したものです。
Starting this fiscal year, we have been organizing and hosting a candle art and LED illumination event in collaboration with three organizations, with the cooperation of Suzaki Elementary School, Suzaki Junior High School, Suzaki Prefectural Comprehensive High School, and Pacific Gakuen Private High School.
Through this project, we aim to: (1) foster a sense of attachment among residents to tsunami evacuation high grounds and towers; (2) provide residents with opportunities to visit these locations at night; (3) identify areas for improvement in the environment of tsunami evacuation high grounds through overnight stays; and (4) encourage participants (such as Kochi University students) to better prepare for outdoor evacuation through these overnight stays.
