We will hold the 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Results Presentation for the Tosa Food Business Creator Human Resources Development Project (Tosa FBC).
Tosa FBC was launched in fiscal year 2008 as part of a food industry human resources development initiative linked to the Kochi Prefecture Industrial Promotion Plan. It is currently operated through collaboration with local organizations and businesses, including grants from Kochi Prefecture, and the fourth phase (Tosa FBC IV) of the program began in fiscal year 2023.With the goal of “Becoming someone who can make a living through food!”, Tosa FBC supports the development of “food professionals” equipped with specialized knowledge in the food industry, as well as the fundamental knowledge and technical skills necessary for research and development.
This year, once again, we welcomed many students not only from Kochi but also from across Japan and overseas. Through a year-long program of online courses (the Main Course, Introductory Course, and Partial Enrollment Course) and in-person classes (the Fundamentals of Innovation Creation Course), we have produced a total of 810 food business creators to date, including this term’s graduates.
We are pleased to announce that Tosa FBC IV has now graduated its 53 students from the 17th cohort, marking the program’s second year, and we will be holding a graduation ceremony and a presentation of results. The presentation session will feature a keynote speech titled “Food Development in the VUCA Era” by Mr. Kentaro Maruyama, Senior Executive Officer and Head of the Innovation Center at Fujicco Co., Ltd., as well as presentations by this year’s graduates. The event will also be streamed online, and we sincerely look forward to your participation.
