◆Inspiration☆Excitement Science ~Welcome to the University Research Lab~ KAKENHI will be holding "Experience the Conservation of Mammals and the Wonders of Life Through Cows!"

Date:

We will be holding "Hirameki☆Tokimeki Science: Welcome to the University Lab"—a KAKENHI-funded program designed to help high school students discover the excitement of science—titled "Let’s Experience Mammal Conservation and the Wonders of Life Through Cattle!"

Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science is developing conservation technologies to safely and securely maintain the genetic resources of mammals, with the aim of contributing to the conservation of mammalian diversity, which is threatened by human activities, natural disasters, infectious diseases, and climate change resulting from global warming.

At this event, Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science will present research using sperm—reproductive cells—and share the appeal and fascination of this research with high school students. Through hands-on demonstrations and lectures covering not only the practical aspects but also the process leading to this success and future developments, the faculty will demonstrate how they have succeeded in producing calves from fertilized eggs derived from freeze-dried sperm—a world-first achievement.
