◆The 2nd KOCHI Future Conference will be held

Date:

Kochi is a charming and distinctive region woven together by a rich culinary culture, a unique history, and warm-hearted people. However, as a region facing the serious challenge of population decline, the sustainability of this attractive area is in jeopardy. The KOCHI Future Conference was established as a forum to discuss initiatives aimed at solving these challenges from various perspectives—including the region’s strengths and a global outlook—and to envision the future of Kochi. Through this process, we aim to help shape the future of Japan as a whole, and indeed the world, as these regions eventually face similar challenges.

For this second session, we are pleased to welcome Professor Emeritus Yoshinori Hiroi of Kyoto University, who advocates for a “steady-state society”—a sustainable welfare society that integrates the environment, welfare, and the economy—as our guest speaker. Together with participants from within and outside the prefecture, we will discuss the future of Kochi.

We sincerely look forward to your participation.
