◆Announcement of the FY2025 IoP Project International Symposium: "Considering the Social Implementation of IoP: Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future Through Plants, Data, and Generative AI"

Date:

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, we will hold the "FY2025 IoP Project International Symposium: Considering the Social Implementation of IoP—Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future with Plants, Data, and Generative AI" at Kochi University’s Monobe Campus and online.

At this symposium, we will review the achievements of the IoP (Internet of Plants) project, now in its eighth year, and the current status of its implementation in society, while discussing future prospects. The IoP is an initiative aimed at realizing Society 5.0-style agriculture by using AI and ICT technologies to “visualize,” “utilize,” and “share” physiological and ecological data from plants. As a technology that essentially “listens to the voice of plants,” it is attracting attention not only from the agricultural sector but also from other industries.

This year’s event will be held under the theme “Social Implementation of the IoP: Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future Through Plants, Data, and Generative AI,” and will feature generative AI researchers, the mayor of Aki City, and leading farmers from the prefecture.

We are also planning an excursion to visit the large-scale horticultural greenhouse currently under construction in Nankoku City.
