Philosophy and Basic Objectives of General Education

[Philosophy]

Based on Kochi University’s philosophy and goals regarding student development, the General Education program supports students in acquiring the foundational skills necessary to engage independently in academic activities at the university and in their professional lives after graduation, as well as to acquire and apply a broad general education.

[Basic Objectives]

　共通教育では、理念に掲げる能力を獲得する上で基盤となる、自ら課題を発見し解決する力や他者とコミュニケーションできる力、そして自身の考えを主張し表現する力を育むとともに、社会のデジタル化に伴い必須とされる数理・データサイエンス・AIの素養、グローバル社会で活躍するための外国語力などを涵養し、生活や人生を豊かにする分野を超えた幅広い教養を身につけることを通じて、各学部が定めるディプロマポリシーの達成に寄与することを基本目標とする。
