Medical SchoolProfessor Atsuki Fukushima of the Department of Ophthalmology has been recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in Japan 2010–2011.”
“Best Doctors” is a program administered by Best Doctors, Inc. in the United States, which surveys a vast number of physicians with the question, “If you or a family member were diagnosed with a condition in your area of expertise, which doctor would you choose for treatment?” Physicians who receive ratings above a certain threshold are recognized. Since the survey began, this question has been asked repeatedly to 1 million people worldwide, resulting in the recognition of 50,000 physicians globally and approximately 3,600 in Japan.This survey is conducted periodically, and the physician database is updated on an ongoing basis.
