A collaborative team of industry, academia, and government representatives—including Professor Taku Fujiwara of the Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Kochi University, who received the "Excellence Award" at the "STI for SDGs" Awards—presented their initiative at "Eco-Pro 2019."

“Eco-Pro 2019”*1, jointly organized by the Japan Industrial Environmental Management Association and the Nikkei Inc., was held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from Thursday, December 5, 2019, to Saturday, December 7, 2019.A university-industry-government collaboration team, including Professor Taku Fujiwara from the Department of Agricultural Sciences in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, participated in the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) exhibition booth*2 and gave a presentation and displayed exhibits regarding the initiative*3 that won the “Excellence Award” in the “STI for SDGs” Awards.
*1 “Eco-Pro 2019” is Asia’s leading comprehensive environmental exhibition, now in its 21st year. It brings together a diverse range of stakeholders in the environmental sector, including general consumers with a strong interest in the environment, business professionals, government and local authorities, NPOs, students engaged in environmental education, and members of the media. This year’s event featured initiatives related to the SDGs under the theme “Toward the Realization of a Sustainable Society.”
