On February 6, 2020, at the 103rd Japan Track and Field Championships held at Rokko Island in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Yuma Toda of the Track and Field Club (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences / Tosa Sakigake Program Sports Talent) set a new Chugoku-Shikoku student record of 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 46 seconds in the men’s 20 km race walk, breaking the previous record by 40 seconds.With this record, he has also secured a spot in next year’s Japan Student Individual Championships and the Japan Student Track and Field Intercollegiate Championships (All-Japan Intercollegiate Championships).
