◆Kisa Takeshima, a second-year student in the Department of Agriculture, has received the 2019 Research Encouragement Award from the Society for Forest Utilization.

 Kisa Takeshima, a second-year student in the Department of Agriculture at the Graduate School of Integrated Human and Natural Sciences, received the 2019 “Forest Utilization Society Research Encouragement Award” for her paper titled “Recovery of Damage to Remaining Trees Following Thinning Operations Using a Cable System,” published in Volume 34, Issue 4 of the Journal of the Forest Utilization Society, for which she served as the lead author.This award was established to encourage research among students and young members of the Society for Forest Utilization, and is presented annually to one recipient who has “published a paper or preliminary report with high potential for development in the Journal of the Society for Forest Utilization and is expected to make significant contributions to future research.” Ms. Takeshima received this award in recognition of the content of her paper and her potential for future growth as a researcher.
