◆ Announcement Regarding the Start of Applications for the "Emergency Student Support Grant" to Support Continued Learning

In accordance with a recent notification from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the “Emergency Student Support Grant Program” will be implemented for students who are financially independent from their families and rely on part-time income to cover tuition and other expenses, but who are facing difficulties continuing their studies at university due to a significant reduction in part-time income resulting from the spread of COVID-19.
Please note that the application period for this program is very short. Additionally, since each university has a limited number of slots for recommendations, a selection process will be conducted by the university. Applicants should carefully review the "Application Guidelines" in the attached file and ensure that their application documents are complete. Applications with missing or incomplete documents will be excluded from consideration.
Payment will be made via bank transfer, which will serve as notification of approval.

◆Eligible Students
Regular students currently enrolled at this university (including graduate students, undergraduates, and international students) who, due to the impact of the spread of COVID-19, have experienced a significant decrease in household income or part-time income, making it difficult to continue their studies at the university
◆Grant Amount: Students from households exempt from resident tax: 200,000 yen
Students other than those listed above: 100,000 yen
◆Regarding Application Requirements

〇Japanese students must meet all requirements ① through ⑥ (however, for requirement ⑥, they must meet any one of items 1 through 5)
〇International students must meet all requirements ① through ⑤ and ⑦
◆Regarding Application Documents
- Form 1: Application Form… Single-parent households or households with multiple children (those with three or more children, including both school-age and preschool-age children) must be sure to indicate this in the “Remarks” section.
- Form 2: Letter of Undertaking
- Documents to verify eligibility requirements… Please refer to page 7 of the “Application Guide”
- (Applicable individuals only) Latest Certificate of Exemption from Resident Tax… Students from households exempt from resident tax who are not recipients of Category I benefits under the Higher Education Support Program (for the student and the head of household)

The university accepts applications via smartphone only. Please submit all documents proving eligibility for the grant in electronic format. When submitting image files, please ensure that the information on the documents is clearly legible.
*You may be asked to mail the application documents at a later date, so please be sure to keep them on file.

*Receiving the Emergency Student Support Grant through false or other fraudulent means is unacceptable. The university may verify any parts of the application for which supporting documents are missing by contacting you via phone or email as necessary. Furthermore, if a false application is discovered, you will be required to repay the funds. Please ensure your application is accurate to prevent any false declarations or other irregularities.
