● Regarding the Bomb Threat Against Kochi University

On Sunday, July 5, a threat was received by Kochi University stating, “We will blow up Kochi University’s main buildings at 5:00 p.m. on July 7.”
Currently, with the cooperation of the police, we are strengthening security measures, including vigilance against suspicious individuals and patrols around the facilities.
The University considers the safety of the local community and all concerned parties to be our top priority and will restrict access to all campuses.
The following campuses will be closed to non-authorized visitors from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7.
● Asakura Campus (2-5-1 Akebono-cho, Kochi City)
● Monobe Campus (200 Monobe-otsu, Nankoku City)
● Okayutaka Campus (Koren, Okayutaka-cho, Nankoku City)
● Ozu Campus (10 Ozu-cho, Kochi City)
Please note that the University Hospital will continue to provide regular medical services for both inpatients and outpatients, provided that adequate safety measures are in place.
We will remain vigilant and continue to take necessary measures in cooperation with the police.
