◆ Results of the Post-Implementation Evaluation of the Regional Revitalization Promotion Project by Regional (Knowledge) Hub Universities (COC+)

Release Date:

The "Regional Revitalization Initiative by Universities as Regional Hubs (COC+)" is a program administered by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) that supports university initiatives aimed at creating attractive employment opportunities for students through collaboration with local governments, businesses, and other entities, while simultaneously implementing the educational curriculum reforms necessary to cultivate the talent needed by those regions.

Kochi University launched this initiative in fiscal year 2015. Over the five-year period through fiscal year 2019, participating higher education institutions (Kochi Prefectural University, Kochi University of Technology, and Kochi National College of Technology), along with Kochi Prefecture, the Tosa Association of Corporate Executives, the Kochi Prefectural Association of Small and Medium Enterprise Owners, the Kochi Prefectural Industrial Association, and the Kochi Prefectural Association of Business Executives, collaborated across industry, academia, government, and the private sector. Through this partnership, they implemented various initiatives aimed at increasing the local employment rate among students while also fostering job creation.

Following the conclusion of the "Regional Revitalization Promotion Project by Regional (Knowledge) Hub Universities (COC+)," the results of the "post-project evaluation" have been released.
