On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the “Kochi Prefecture Venture Fund” decided to invest in “Sals Science Co., Ltd.,” a venture company established by faculty members of Kochi University. Kochi Industry-Academia Collaboration Capital Co., Ltd., Sals Science Co., Ltd., Kochi Bank Co., Ltd., and Kochi University held a joint press conference.
Kochi University is committed to supporting startups founded by faculty members based on their research findings as a way to contribute to the local community.
Sals Science Co., Ltd. was established on November 1, 2022, to commercialize the results of pancreatic cancer research led by Associate Professor Keisuke Taniuchi of the Department of Gastroenterology at Kochi University School of Medicine. The company is engaged in initiatives aimed at the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and the development of new therapeutic agents.
