◆Yutaka Yokota, a senior in the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry, and Marine Sciences, received the Student Award for Outstanding Research Presentation at the 31st Annual Conference of the Society for Forest Utilization.

 Yutaka Yokota, a fourth-year student in the Forest Science Program of the Department of Agricultural and Forest Resource and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry, and Marine Sciences, received the Outstanding Student Paper Presentation Award for his paper titled “Study on Trunk Analysis and Non-Destructive Strength Measurement Results of 50-Year-Old Hinoki Cypress Trees Grown in Low-Density Plantings,” which he presented as the lead author at the 31st Annual Academic Research Conference of the Society for Forest Utilization.

 This award is intended to foster student members and is presented to student members who, as lead presenters at academic conferences, have delivered exemplary presentations that serve as a model for others. Ms. Yokota received this award in recognition of her research, which involved extensive consultation with her collaborative partner, the Forestry Technology Center at the Hiroshima Prefectural Institute of Technology, as well as her meticulous and patient execution of tree trunk analysis—a process requiring considerable effort and perseverance—and her accurate analytical findings.
