"New Passport to Adult Society 5 (for Special Education Schools) — Learn Through Games and Get Closer to Your Dreams! The Path to Becoming a Money Master," a financial literacy educational resource for special education schools supervised by Tomomi Yasuoka, a teacher Affiliated Special Education SchoolFaculty of EducationAffiliated Special Education School, has been released.

In recent years, the rapid shift toward cashless payments has made it harder to keep track of one’s finances. For people with intellectual disabilities in particular, managing money has become increasingly complex, and it is not uncommon for them to become involved in consumer disputes. As a result, there is a growing need to learn how to use and manage money appropriately.

This educational material incorporates an adventurous theme centered on a journey to become a "money master," allowing students to enjoyably learn the basics of household budgeting and consumer issues while taking on various games. Through visually intuitive design and simulations, it is specifically designed to help students with intellectual disabilities address the financial management challenges they face in their daily lives.

Although this material is intended for students attending special education schools, it is designed so that anyone can enjoy learning about money.

“You likely want your child to lead a fulfilling life even after graduating from school. The ability to choose and purchase what they like within their budget, the ability to save money to fulfill their dreams, and the ability to be cautious of dangerous temptations… The ability to think about and use money wisely is a vital life skill. Consistent financial education within the home—the foundation of daily life—nurtures these essential life skills. For your child’s future, we recommend that you work with them on this starting with small, everyday purchases.”
