On March 23, we held the first-ever “Giving Campaign 2024 ~ Kochi University Appreciation Event ~” at the university’s Asakura Campus so that students could personally express their gratitude to those who supported the student support charity event “Kochi University Giving Campaign 2024.”
The "Giving Campaign" is an online event that began in 2021. Participating student groups promote their activities on social media and through alumni networks during the event period to solicit support and donations. Under this system, participating student groups can receive funding from partner companies supporting the "Giving Campaign" by collecting support votes, and supporters can either cast support votes or make direct donations.
In the Giving Campaign 2024, Kochi University ranked 7th out of 100 participating universities with 11,457 votes, and the soccer team achieved the remarkable feat of placing 2nd among all 100 university teams nationwide.
In light of these results, we held the inaugural “Giving Campaign 2024 – Kochi University Appreciation Event” as an opportunity for students to personally thank those who supported them.On the day of the event, 130 students were joined by supporters and representatives from local businesses. In addition to expressing the students’ gratitude for the support, the event featured presentations on student club activities and panel discussions. It served as an opportunity to convey appreciation to Kochi University alumni and financial supporters, as well as to engage in conversations about student life and future aspirations.
