◆Recipients of the 2024 Kochi University Public Relations Recognition Program “Outstanding Public Relations Contribution Award” Announced

On March 13, 2025, we held the award ceremony for the "Outstanding Public Relations Contribution Award" under Kochi University's Public Relations Recognition Program.
The Public Relations Recognition Program was established in fiscal year 2018. Through this program, the President recognizes faculty, staff, and students (including retirees and alumni) who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the University’s public relations activities through proactive communication and innovative initiatives. The program aims to foster a culture of public relations and contribute to the revitalization and further development of public relations activities at the University.
The following two individuals have been awarded the "Outstanding Public Relations Contribution Award" this year.
Kuri Aiba ( Faculty of Science and Technology )
Activities: Research in fish taxonomy and phylogeography (including the distribution of fish populations), as well as giving external lectures and actively sharing information through the media and social media.
Professor Makoto Okamura (Professor Emeritus, Center for Disaster Prevention Promotion )
Activities: Long-term research on earthquake disasters, as well as active disaster prevention education and awareness campaigns
President Uchida presented them with certificates of commendation and offered words of encouragement, saying, “I’ve been following your achievements all along. I look forward to seeing what you do next.”
