◆Kochi University and Kochi Prefecture have signed an agreement to establish a system for providing pain-free childbirth

On Friday, March 28, 2025, Kochi University and Kochi Prefecture signed an agreement at the Kochi Prefectural Government Office regarding the establishment of a system to provide pain-free childbirth.
The purpose of this agreement is to contribute to the development of medical personnel in the field of perinatal care throughout Kochi Prefecture and to the improvement and enhancement of the quality of perinatal care in the prefecture by implementing initiatives that leverage the University’s research and human resource development capabilities.
The agreement covers a three-year period from fiscal year 2025 to fiscal year 2027. Our primary activities will focus on strengthening the management of high-risk pregnancies and childbirth, establishing and promoting systems for pain-free childbirth, and raising awareness about pain-free childbirth. We will proceed with these initiatives in a phased manner to ensure the provision of a safe healthcare system.
