◆We held a certificate award ceremony for the FY2024 Regional Revitalization Promoters and Glocal Revitalization Promoters
Release Date:
On March 25, 2025, we held a certification ceremony for Regional Revitalization Promoters and Glocal Revitalization Promoters for the 2024 fiscal year at the Asakura Campus.
The title of "Regional Revitalization Promoter" serves as recognition of one’s deepened understanding of local communities and commitment to addressing their challenges, as well as proof of the innovative capabilities cultivated through that process. It is awarded upon completion of the required coursework and is certified by the University Consortium for Community, People, and Jobs Revitalization Headquarters—a body comprising higher education institutions within the prefecture (including this university), Kochi Prefecture, and the business community.
In fiscal year 2024, a total of 39 individuals—one from the Kochi National College of Technology and 38 from Kochi University (seven from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, two from the Faculty of Education, one from the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry, and Marine Sciences, and 28 from the Faculty of Regional Collaboration)—were newly certified as Regional Revitalization Promoters and received their certificates and badges. This brings the cumulative total since the program’s inception in fiscal year 2016 to 313 individuals.
The "Glocal Regional Revitalization Specialist" is a certification program unique to Kochi University that was established last year. In addition to the "Regional Revitalization Specialist" certification, this title is awarded to students who have further deepened their understanding of regional challenges in Japan by incorporating various international perspectives and have put that knowledge into practice.
In fiscal year 2024, three students were certified, bringing the total to four. All of these students have conducted fieldwork in Susaki City and Yasuda Town alongside international students, exchanged views on issues facing Kochi, and gained practical experience through internships in Switzerland, Indonesia, Taiwan, and other locations.
