We are pleased to announce that a professor emeritus and a former staff member of our university have been awarded honors in the Spring Decorations.
Order of the Sacred Treasure, 3rd Class: For Distinguished Service in Education and Research—Mr. Gisuke Murase (Professor Emeritus, Kochi University)
Order of the Sacred Treasure, Second Class with Two Rays: For Distinguished Service in Education and Science Administration—Mr. Yoshifumi Takemi (Former Executive Director for Finance and General Secretary, Kochi University)
Dr. Gisuke Murase, a specialist in accounting, served as Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning and Educational Research, Chair of the Department of Social and Economic Studies in the Faculty of Humanities, and a member of the Board of Trustees, among other roles, and made significant contributions to the development of our university.
Mr. Yoshifumi Takekimi has served as Director of General Affairs at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Director of General Affairs at the National Center for University Teaching and Learning, Director of the National Aso Youth Center, Director of the National Ozu Youth Exchange Center, and Executive Director (in charge of finance) and Secretary General of this university, and has dedicated himself to the development of national universities and other institutions.
