◆The women’s kendo club took third place at the 40th West Japan Women’s College Kendo Tournament (team competition), and Emiko Yamamoto received the Outstanding Player Award.

 On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the 40th Western Japan Women’s College Kendo Tournament (team competition: 5-person teams) was held at Kurume Arena (Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture). Our university’s women’s kendo team placed third, and Emiko Yamamoto received the Outstanding Player Award.

 This tournament was the largest student kendo tournament in the Western Japan region, with 68 universities (teams) participating.

 Although the women’s kendo team lost to the tournament champions in the semifinals, they finished in third place in the Western Japan tournament for the second time, following their third-place finish two years ago.
 

 In addition, Emiko Yamamoto (a third-year student in the Faculty of Education) was selected to receive the Outstanding Player Award, which is presented to eight players who performed exceptionally well in this tournament.
