◆Our university team won the Bronze Prize at the Regional Tourism Challenge 2025 Results Presentation and Final Judging Session

Release Date:

On Monday, September 22, 2025, Kochi University hosted the results presentation and final judging session for the “Regional Tourism Challenge 2025,” a collaborative initiative between the four national universities in Shikoku (Tokushima University, Kagawa University, Ehime University, and Kochi University) and JR Shikoku.

The "Regional Tourism Challenge" is part of a collaborative initiative in the three areas of regional development, tourism promotion, and human resource development, based on a partnership agreement signed in September 2017 with the aim of revitalizing the Shikoku region. The program aims to attract visitors to the region by having students from each university discover and research local resources and develop tourism plans that add value to them.
This year marked the 8th edition of the event, with a total of 8 teams from 4 universities participating in the presentation of results and judging. As a result of the judging, one team was awarded the Gold Prize, one team the Silver Prize, and two teams the Bronze Prize.
Representing our university, the “Inokko Exploration Team”—composed of two first-year students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Regional Collaboration—participated in the event. They delivered a presentation titled “The Home of Paper: Mountains, Rivers, and People’s Lives” and were awarded the Bronze Prize. Their project, which focused on the region’s nature, culture, and people’s daily lives, received high praise from the judges.
The project presented at the final judging session is scheduled to be refined and subsequently sold as a travel package by JR Shikoku.
