Daiji Tasumi, a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Marine Science, received the Academic Conference Paper Award at the Autumn Academic Conference of the Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in 2025.
This academic conference, a nationwide event reporting on research findings related to surveying, remote sensing, and geographic information systems, attracted 258 participants, the largest number in the last six years.
This award is given to young members under the age of 30 who have demonstrated outstanding presentations and oral presentations at academic conferences, and five individuals received this award.
Ms. Tasumi presented her research titled "Analysis of Fixed Camera Footage Using an AI Pose Estimator to Understand the Contact Behavior of Wagyu Cattle," and her contribution to the university's smart livestock farming project was highly praised, making her the youngest recipient of the award.
