Release Date:

At the 2nd Midori Strategy Student Challenge National Competition, a group from the Faculty of Agriculture and Marine Science—comprising fourth-year students Kotoko Yamasaki, Honatsu Watanabe, Mayu Manno, and Saki Doi—won the AgVenture Lab Award.

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, this competition is designed for university and high school students—including those at agricultural colleges and high schools—to undertake activities, either individually or in groups, based on the "Green Food System Strategy," and to disseminate and share their results. For the second edition of the competition, a total of 387 entries were received across the high school division and the university/vocational school division, with one award selected for each category.

The group submitted an application titled “Initiatives for Heat Mitigation in Summer Cropping in Response to Climate Change” and, following a review by a panel of experts from within and outside the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, received this award in recognition of its particularly outstanding efforts.
